Goodbye, Dolly!

Professor Ian Wilmut, the scientist who created Dolly the sheep, is done with cloning and is finally back where he belongs. (That’s from a Louis Armstrong song your grandparents — or maybe great-grandparents — used to listen to on their phonograph.) Wilmut says he’s now going to focus on stem cells, and a new technique, pioneered in Japan, that sidesteps some of ethical concerns over the use of human embryos.
